A Little Life

 

Is there anything about this book I can say that you haven't already heard? A heartbreaking story that shows the importance of the journey lives take individually and together. Like many, I was influenced by #BookTok. While at first, I had a hard time connecting (I don't tend to read male narratives and I'm from a suburb out of Los Angeles so NYC is very foreign), but as I dove deeper, I realized how much I connected to the characters. Coming from a personal life that is similar to each of the characters in their own way, I was able to understand and feel comforted in the fact that there are others like me in the world. While, Yanagihara did get a few tears from me, especially at the end, this will forever be a cherished classic to me. Bravo.
